Larry Jones signs 3-year extension

Recommended Posts

Outside of the burp a few yrs ago about him cheating on his wife, CJ has been a consumate pro ever since coming up in 1996 (?). It would be nice to see a player play his whole career in one city. And yes, I think CJ is still productive to warrant the contract, and the Braves are definately my sleeper in the East. If the Mets and Phillies sleep on the Braves, they could be in for a major surprise.

The Braves might have one of the worst offensive outfields in history, and Kotchman is pretty bad for an offensive 1B. They won't score enough runs, especially since they don't have a knockout rotation.

I noticed they gave Schafer the starting job. How does he project as an offensive CF'er?

Eventually, pretty good. As a 22 year old who struck out in 1/4 of his PA's in AA last year, the outlook is not bright for 2009.
