The young man is an outstanding talent, but I think the Tigers are severely rushing him. I know Detroit is desparate for pitching, but they should compund the problem by rushing their best pitching prospect. Now I realize that Porcello has had a really good spring, but he hasn't pitched over A Ball. Detroit should start him at AA, not the majors.

"wins" is accurate, but I think the Tigers were 1 more pitching injury from giving Cro Magnon a look.

 

The Tigers rotation is in shambles. As long as (a) he doesn't get shelled and lose his mind and (b) they keep his IPs in check, I don't see a problem with it. Isn't Bonderman supposed to be back in the first half of the season? If so, Porcello goes to AAA or the pen.

you had the lefty loser twins Robertson and Willis playing hot potato with the gig all spring, now Willis is bipolar or something and Robertson still blows. not a lot of other options, really.

 

i don't really see anything wrong with it. you an skip his starts a few times early in the season and limit his innings, and they've got 3/4 of a great defensive IF to field all the grounders he'll induce.
