Baseball America's Jim Callis notes that the Cubs released "three of their top picks from the last six drafts this spring: outfielder Ryan Harvey, the sixth overall pick in 2003; righthander Grant Johnson, a second-rounder in 2004; and lefty Mark Pawelek, the 20th overall choice in 2005."

 

At age 22 or 23, I wouldnt have quite given up on future Cardinals ace Pawelek just yet, but what can you do.

 

Id like to think that whoever was in charge of drafting for the decade is currently workong the graveyard shift at a White Castle

 

OK, I guess theres still a glimmer of hope for Colvin, and Vitters looks good, and nobody can be blamed for Mark Prior but Dusty Baker and Marcus Giles.
