You get up to 20 prospects in your farm system, and as you can see Roast only had about 10. There's a decent amount of good prospects still available so if you know your minor leagues, you can rebuild the farm system pretty easily. Let me know if you're interested and if you have any questions about rules or anything let me know. There's a few other NSBB guys in the league too.

I've been fantasy baseball crazy this year, and seeing this opportunity I wanted to jump at it, but I'm not gonna lie... that team is making it difficult for me to offer to take it off his hands.

Is there a league home where you can view the other rosters? I know I don't have tenure so if someone else would like to take it over it's all good, but if I were given the opportunity I'd like to see what I'm up against before making the decision.

Oh yeah, does it cost money to join as well?

The Logan. It's a fun league. If you know the minors well enough you can rebuild the team fast. You could also trade away a couple of these guys too for younger upside guys. It will be a challange but Roast made some bad moves by taking Fukudome over Wieters, Price, Etc. Roast tended to pick with his heart and not his head.

That dastardly fiend!

Well, I'm definitely interested, so you can mark me down as a thumbs up, especially since it'd be a challenge and an obvious commitment. As I asked before, does this league have league fees? Also, what fantasy site/program is this dynasty set up on?

Hey Logan, here's the forum we use to kind of keep in touch over the offseason and do the minor league drafts and such.

Another tough thing is you wouldn't have a 1st round pick this year. Roast traded it to me for Posada before the start of last year. But honestly, there's plenty of top 100 prospects that are still available. I also have some ideas of trades that might help both of us that we can discuss if you do decide to take it over. I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit of a challenge, but it's not too hard to turn things around and like I said there's at least a decent nucleus there. It's a free league and we run it through yahoo. We already have the league set up and we're just waiting on a few more people to join. So take a look and let me know if you're interested. If you have any questions just let me know. If you decide to take over the team just register on the site above and post in the check in thread over there. Thanks

Cool deal, I'm in. I posted over there. Thanks!

Not to pile on Roast, but you traded your first round pick this year for Jorge Posada? I understand the strategy of going for it all, but was Posada really likely to be the difference between anything other than 11th and 12th place?

Well in his defense he did it last offseason when Posada was coming off a great year. .338/.426/.543/.970 with 20 homers, 90 RBIs, 91 runs. His previous season he also hit 23 homers with a .867 OPS. So it's not like I was going to give him away for nothing.

sure, but he was still a 36-year-old C and you're giving up your #1 pick. If you thought Posada was a good bet for an .800+ OPS and was the piece that would put you over the top or near it - fine. But I can't imagine this team finished in the top 3 last year.

Great, top-heavy pitching staff. Terrible minor league system, though. And that pen is awful as well. That team is a serious makeover project, which could be alot of fun for the right owner.

I took that team over. So far I'm having a blast with it as well. I'm hoping to build for the future and contend for the present at the same time!

(The latter probably won't happen)

I'm sure not many care, but since Roast's team is somewhat of a conversation piece, thought I'd pass along the info I struck a monster trade just now. I'm not gonna lie, it's definitely not in my favor, per se, but I decided it was best to build for the future more than the present with what I had. I had no bullpen and little to no farm system, and some star players who were getting up there in years who were definitely not going to lead me to any championships, so I traded a handful of them for some youth...

I traded:

3B Aramis Ramirez

RF Ichiro Suzuki

SP Brandon Webb

SP Carlos Zambrano

I got:

SP Francisco Liriano

1B Joey Votto

C Jeff Clement

RP Mike Gonzalez

RP Rafael Soriano

P prospect Will Inman

P prospect Jordan Walden

1B/LF prospect Kyle Blanks

OF prospect Nolan Reimold

1st round pick (#11 overall, to offset the one Roast traded away last year)
