Soapdropping Philly fans whining about the rain. Your team is in the farking World Series, you clods. Quit bitching.

They should be pulling for heavy rain. If Game 3 gets postponed until tomorrow, that means Hamels can pitch in Game 4 rather than having to wait until Game 5, which would increase his chances of being available to pitch in a Game 7.

Wow, Jimmy Rollins was out by a few feet there. How did that umpire miss it? He was right in front of the play.

nice to see the rays finally get boned over on a call. but yeah, when slow ryan howard grounds to the pitcher, the throw should go to 2B to start the double play rather than trying to get rollins coming home - that's a mental mistake.

It's time to stop screwing around and put replay in for ump calls.

We can do it 5 years from now after a bunch more blown calls in huge games, or we can just accept that it's coming and put it in now. Just do it now.

Simply an abysmal call. This is the best ump crew that MLB has to offer.

Sonnastine made a real big mistake there but that doesn't excuse the umps here. The freaking play was right in front of that ump. And now it costs the Rays a run.

MLB should be embarrassed.

there's been at least one bad missed call in each of the games so far. maybe this will create enough of an uproar (if anyone is watching) to put instant replay in for calls on the basepaths.

meh, if the first base ump doesn't blow a call in the seventh inning last night, the phillies win the game 4-3 rather than having to win it in the bottom of the 9th. a lot of people want the playoffs to be similar to the regular season, and i guess mlb has at least gotten some consistency as far as the quality of the umpire work.

I didn't watch yesterday's game, that makes it even worse if there was a horrible call yesterday too.

oh there were bad calls that cost the phillies a run in each of the first two games - one on offense in game 1 and then the rays got a free run in game 2. fortunately none of these have resulted in the "wrong" team winning, but it's still pathetic that these are the best umps that mlb can give us.

aramis ramirez and kevin youkilis were the top offensive players in their respective leagues? lol.

According to the fans, so that explains that.

what better way to honor one of the all time greats (hank aaron) by creating an idiotic award in his name.

I think the Rays may be in some trouble. Just like Game 1 for the Phillies, this one is a must win for Tampa because I don't see them beating Hamels tomorrow. And really, if you can't knock around Jamie Moyer or Joe Blanton, you probably don't deserve to win the series anyway.

What's happened to Evan Longoria in the series? He was killing the ball in the DS and CS but he's 0-15 in the WS.

Steve Phillips actually had something worthwhile to say regarding Longoria's hitting, on Baseball Tonight before the game. Everything that Longoria was hitting in the ALCS from Boston pitchers and White Sox pitchers was belt high and up, or on the inner half of the plate. Philly pitchers have been been pitching Longoria low and/or away and Longoria hasn't made the adjustment. Take a look next time EL comes up to bat. It brings back some bad Soriano memories.
