doubt it affects the playoff game saturday but . . . snow levels dropping below pass levels Ping!

50% chance of rain Saturday, but for now, expected to push out by game time.

0.10" - 0.50" through the basin and valleys including Dodger Stadium. There has never been a playoff rain delay in Southern California before.

WELL DEFINED COLD FRONT WILL BEGIN TO SWEEP ACROSS THE CENTRAL COAST LATE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...AND HOLD TOGETHER AS IT MOVES ACROSS POINT CONCEPTION AND AFFECTS SBA/VTU AND LA COUNTIES BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND LINGERING THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

Those numbers break down to 0.00" - 0.00" for San Diego. Dammit!

Yeah, I was there in 03-04. I can't believe they get half the rain that LA does, LA barely gets any rain.

THE FRONT SHOULD BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING. THE AIRMASS ALONG THE FRONT IS EXPECTED TO BE SATURATED BELOW 700 MB WHICH IS MORE THAN SUFFICIENT TO PRODUCE LIGHT SHOWERS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS HOWEVER ARE EXPECTED TO BE QUITE LIGHT FOR SEVERAL REASON.

FOR NOW...IT LOOKS LIKE AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY BE BETWEEN ONE AND TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ON THE LOWER COASTAL SLOPES. SOME AREAS OF COASTAL SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND THE INTERIOR INLAND EMPIRE MAY EVEN SEE LESS THAN ONE TENTH.

We may get 0.5 to 1 inch - I'm hoping for the latter. More importantly, snow!

I will say that I'm at least a little excited about the cool down scheduled for this weekend. It was very August Las Vegaslike here yesterday. 98 degrees at 10:15am. My A/C is working overtime.

Oh, and I wasn't too far off on my rain prediction.

It's actually a bad weekend to rain, but I'll manage if it actually happens. I have 11 24x36 tournament boards that I usually staple to the outside wall of the poolroom we are conducting a huge pool tournament at. There really isn't a good place inside to hang that many boards. And if it rains, the muddy area where the boards would normally hang would make a real mud hole, which would get tracked into the establishment.

The threat of rain will probably make us pick a new place to hang them, but then we will probably not get a drop and we will have created a whole big issue out of nothing. And of course, I know as soon as we get them hung up outside, it will rain just enough to really piss me off.

Maybe my pessimism after game 1 needs to be toned down a bit, eh?

102 on Monday in Pasadena, 100 on Tuesday and 99 yesterday. 97 all 3 days in Downtown LA.

I hate it when the hottest day of the year is in September or October but that's how it is in inland So Cal.

Definitely happens during Santa Ana season.

It's going to be 60 on Saturday after being about 100 yesterday.
