Decent game for the Titans Sunday. The defense is continuing its dominance and penchant for getting turnovers - both good things - and the offense is simply not screwing up too badly.

The only real difference I've seen with Kerry Collins in there over Vince is that Kerry doesn't make the dumb throws Vince does on occassion. Kerry's not really any better on the deep ball, but is a little more accurate than Vince on the short throws. With this defense, though, it's vital the QB doesn't make mistakes.

I'm really starting to wonder right now, against my better judgement, if the Titans are currently the best team in the AFC. They're definitely a playoff team and each week makes me think even more that they can reach the Super Bowl.

Actually, statistically to this point (coming into this week), Baltimore has been the best team in the NFL. Granted, that's only with two weeks of statistical data to work with (for them).

Top 10 statistically, coming into this week, were Baltimore, New York Giants, Philadelphia, Tennessee, Buffalo, Atlanta, Dallas, Green Bay, San Diego, Pittsburgh

The always fun "If the playoffs started today" playoff lineup:

NFC: Arizona, Carolina, NY Giants, Green Bay, Washington, Tampa Bay

AFC: Buffalo, Baltimore, Tennessee, Denver, Pittsburgh, New England

Interesting, hadn't thought about Baltimore since they've only played two games.

Is it safe to assume, though, that according to the data if the Titans beat the Ravens Sunday, they will then be the best team in the AFC? :D

I guess so. The Titans are one of the better stories in the NFL right now.

Heh, as long as they outplay them while doing it, and look better than Buffalo in the process... ;)

After Baltimore/Tennessee/Buffalo there's a huge gap in the AFC to the next "tier".

To make you feel better: Even before this week, the Titans had the best odds of any team in the NFL to make the playoffs

It looks so strange to see Baltimore, Tennessee and Buffalo as the class of the AFC. Two of those three won't last long, though, I don't think.

First ever 4-0 start in franchise history. Old backup QB leading the way when the young hotshot was injured. Few big-time media stars (Bulluck and Haynesworth are about it).

I'm starting to love this season. :D

I do find it hilarious, however, that just 3 weeks into the season the Lions had a 0.0% chance of making the playoffs.

Did that increase at all with the firing of Matt Millen?

Because it should have.

I'm sure it increased after the Packers and Vikings losses.

Hey, they may hit 1% before the end of the year. :P

Wow this game is boring.

There's more excitement on CNN right now watching everyone freak out about the stock market.

I love games like this. It's fun to have crazy offensive games, but ugly smashmouth games like this are fun too at times.

If the Colts can't stay healthy, I want to see the Titans and Bills in the AFC Championship Game. I really like the Bills this year.

If the Titans don't make the Super Bowl in a year (and this is the first year since 2004 that I've thought they had a legit shot) I normally root for the Colts to get there.

Almost entirely because of Peyton, but hey, at least I'm rooting for them. :D

why am I so annoyed by watching AFC teams?

That makes two of us.

Oh and Aaron Rodgers only has a strained shoulder and he should play against ATL on Sunday. That's a big sigh of relief in Packerland.

bye, bye mendenhall

fractured shoulder

Hardly surprising. Earlier this week Mendenahall sent a text message to Ray Rice about how he was gonna explode in his first start. Ravens' LB Bart Scott responded by saying "Thanks for the bulletin-board material, rookie." Guess next time Rashard shouldn't write checks his behind can't cash.

did bart scott tape his blackberry to the bulletin board? does he have a little receipt printer that he hooks up to his iphone to make hard copies of all of his important text messages?
