As we are all well aware, there are those guys out there, like Pujols, C-Lee, Adam Dunn, etc. who seem to dominate us every time out.

My question is, do we have any 1 player that does the same to any other particular team whenever they meet? I know DeRosa has had some success against Cincy, but not to that magnitude.

For one thing, Pujols doesn't dominate the Cubs. He has a .972 OPS against them in his career. Great numbers, but well below his career 1.049 OPS. The Cubs handle him better than most teams out there.

Just taking a quick glance at one player, Alfonso Soriano has killed both the Braves and Pirates in his career. He has a 1.203 OPS against the Pirates and a 1.156 against the Braves.

To compare, Carlos Lee has a career .979 OPS against the Cubs. Adam Dunn has a career 1.012 against the Cubs.

So Soriano has killed 2 teams over a large number of at-bats much worse than these "cub killers" have killed the Cubs. If I were to continue to search, I bet I could find many more examples like this.

Perception does not equal reality in this case.

Without looking at the numbers, I would say A-Ram, Pittsburgh

The Pirates are actually only Ramirez's 3rd best numbers.

He has killed the White Sox the most (1.105 OPS) and then Atlanta (1.008 OPS). Pittsburgh is next with a .966 OPS.

Barrett and Jones always seemed to really get up for the Cardinals series.

Barrett only has a .800 OPS against the cards.

but yea, Jones killed the Cards. 1.010 OPS which is his highest by a large margin.

For his career, maybe, but here are his numbers against the Cards as a Cub.

2004: .316 (20-for-63), 3 2B, 4 HR, 9 RBI, .932 OPS in 17 games

2005: .313 (10-for-32), 3 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .889 OPS in 10 games

2006: .362 (21-for-58), 5 2B, 5 HR, 14 RBI, 1.129 OPS in 17 games

2007: .313 (5-for-16), 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1.040 OPS in 5 games

I don't know what the aggregate OPS for those 4 seasons would be, but it sure looks like he got up for the Cardinals series as a Cub.
