Brewerfan is a flaming wreck right now. Apparently the Brewers' playoff odds went from 82.5% to .02% because of this loss, judging by some of the comments. They're getting swept by the Reds, they're going to stumble into Philly and lose the wildcard lead, then get swept by the Cubs to virtually eliminate them from the playoffs, blah, blah, blah.

At least most of the casual fans that only started following the team post-Sabathia trade likely won't notice until tomorrow since they were so consumed with the Packers game. Thank God Tarvaris Jackson remembered he was a sucky quarterback, otherwise the entire state of Wisconsin might've offed themselves if the Vikings came back to win in the final drive and Torres blew a save in the 9th.

That's gonna happen. Hopefully some Brewers fans put it in perspective. If they need an inspiration, they can look 90 miles south and see a team that is trying to tank worse than the Brewers.

I'm pretty sure Bruce Bochy wants to Tim Lincecum to go the way of Mark Prior.

I was just coming to post something about this when I read the Giants recap. 127 pitches tonight for Lincecum.

108 through 8. Up 6-0. Not in playoff contention. A guy who is in his second year as a pro, only age 24. And is already 44 innings over his previous career high. Lincecum isn't going to beat Sabathia or Webb for the Cy Young.

It was ridiculously dumb.

He did the same exact thing in his last start....I think it was like 132 pitches.

I disagree about the Cy, though. From what I've been reading, he's now the favorite with how Webb has been falling apart. C.C. won't get the votes. Dempster even has a (slim) chance if he wins out and Webb/Lincecum struggle. I'd put my money on Lincecum though.

It was actually two starts ago on Aug. 27 that he threw 132 pitches, but the point remains.

At least this one I kind of understand since Bochy wanted to get him the complete game (though it ended up hurting him since he gave up an unearned tun) but the Aug. 27 start was downright dumb. Lincecum had no shot at a complete game and was at 118 pitches through 7 innings so Bochy had no business sending Lincecum back out there for the eighth. He's worse than Dusty was with Wood and Prior and Yost is with CC in the sense that the Cubs in 03 and the Brewers this year are in the playoff hunt and need wins. The Giants suck and aren't going anywhere.

Wait!! The Brewers freaking lost?!?!?!

Wow! I went to bed and it was 4-1 cursing under my breathe. What a way to kick off my Morning!

But that team isn't trying to catch anybody. Big difference.

Me too. Kind of like waking up on christmas morning. Thanks Dusty Claus!

I've said "Thank You" to Dusty more times this year than his entire tenure as the Cubs coach.

And look at what happened in his start after August 27th, he was awful.
