According to MLB.com, Sheets, up 1-0 with a 2 hitter was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 6th.

Heres the snip from Rotoworld

Ben Sheets-S-Brewers Sep. 1 - 3:19 pm et

Ben Sheets came out of Monday's game after throwing just 54 pitches in five scoreless innings.

Sheets was still in the dugout after being removed for a pinch-hitter to begin the bottom of the fifth and didn't seem to be in any real pain at all. Still, there had to be some sort of physical problem for him to come out so early.

Theres no way Yost would have left his pen with the Mets for 4 innings when his starter had 54 pirches if nothing was wrong.

Yost must have gotten word that they lost the appeal on the one hit in CCs game, and kicked Sheets in the nuts on accident in frustration.

Ben Sheets said he felt his groin tightin in the 3rd inning and he said it was felling better in the 5th inning but Ned took him out just to be safe. Sorry to tell you guys but Ben is fine.

Nice cover up. We all know Yost kicked him in the Jimmy. ;)

Hopefully he is fine. Did Sheets have a groin injury last year? They seem to linger for a long time.

Bizarre to take someone out at 54 pitches, but I guess the Brewers are pretty much coasting to the WC now.

I believe it was a game against the Cubs last year when he strained his groin or something like that. I seem to remember it being one of those early-season cold and rainy games at Wrigley, and he tweaked it warming up after the rain delay or something. My memory's not too good, though, since I have successfully blocked out most of last season. ;)

Thanks for the info. The bolded part; I feel the same way about 2004.

It's kind of funny how every time one of our division rivals suffers an injury to a key player, the Cubs end up answering by one of their players going down shortly after. Gallardo goes down...Soriano goes down. Pujols goes down...Zambrano goes down. Sheets looks like he might have gone down...Zambrano goes down again.
