Mike Bowden - (Aurora, IL) Debuting for RedSox 6:05 WGN!

Fenway will be the debut of Waubonsie Valley High School (Aurora, IL) fireballer MICHAEL BOWDEN tomorrow against the White Sox. I had the privilege of playing with Mike for two years, and I HOPE HE KILLS THE WHITE SOX!

 

Spoke with him briefly this evening and he is so stoked, and nervous... told him like highschool, he has 7 players behind him ready to make a play to make his debut a success. Told him just to throw strikes and that Red Sox defense is a bit better than WVHS defense.... I can't wait... I hope you all tune in!

Odd to think that only 3 1/2 years ago I was watching him pitch in Naperville.

He was a different kid out there than everyone else, built like a man, serious approach to the game, intense kid.

I believe my high school beat him during the regular season my senior year, but lost to him in the Sectionals or Super Sectionals or something after our SS made a huge throwing error that gave them the lead or game? I don't remember much.

 

This is exciting though, I hope he does a great job.

I actually didn't like what I saw. I've never seen Bowden pitch before, and the last guy I saw who consistently worked the upper third of the strike zone with mediocre fastballs so frequently was Eric Milton. His release point seems really high and most everything seemed to be up.
