The Idaho Statesman"]Right-hander Andrew Cashner has been promoted to the Cubs’ Class A team in Peoria, Ill. Cashner, the 13th overall draft pick in 2008, is expected to start for Peoria on Friday.

BoiseHawks.com"]The Hawks made four roster moves prior to the game - as Marcus Hatley and Israel Camacaro were sent to Mesa for medical evaluation, while Mesa Cubs pitchers Cedric Redmond and Manolin DeLeon were promoted to Boise.

If I am not mistaken, today is the second to last game for Mesa.

Casey Coleman is throwing for Daytona tonight.

I think you'll like what Casey has to offer. He has a great feel for pitching, is competitive on the mound, throws some good pitches, and could make a nice middle of the rotation type in the majors, especially if he can get his velocity up a tick or two from when I saw him (gun had him around 87-90).

You guys are spoiled out at Daytona with pitching. :D

If I didn't know better, this scouting report on Casey Coleman sounds close to Sean Gallagher, but without the velocity on the FB.

Hoff has a homer tonight already and is 2-2 with 4 RBI still in the 2nd inning......

Coleman looks to have had a very solid debut in Daytona, pitching 5 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 run, which was unearned, 2 walks and 2 K's.

He reminded me a LOT of Ryan Acosta when I saw him.
