There are some errors in that article. It states he has 161 homers and 541 RBI in 441 career games. I read that and thought that that was a lot of homers for that amount of games. He actually has 43 homers, 161 RBI, and 541 total bases.

LOL

The Jays official press release is wrong? :rotfl:

Maybe the Jays thought they were getting they player with 161 HR's and 541 RBI in 441 career games, and knew that was a trade they couldn't refuse.

Rolen's hurt (again) and they've got another IF on the DL, too.

Bautista is better than anyone they could call up.

He's under contract for next year.

He's only 27 and could be a pretty decent player for a couple years.

They still have a slim chance of making the playoffs (7 games out).

They really, really, really, really want to finish in front of the Yankees for the first time in fifteen years (only a game behind).

JP's job is hanging by a short and curly one. They have to finish with a winning record and have to finish strong or JP is finished. He might be finished either way. Edited by CubinNY

My guess is that he is finished either way. I don't get Ricciardi or the Jays at all. How many times has a Blue Jays team of his been 3/4 complete(in terms of bieng good enough to contend), and JP either sits on his hands and does nothing at the deadline, or does nothing in the offseason.
