Drew Rundle was pulled from the Boise lineup for not running out a groundout.

Quick trade him for BJ Upton or Jimmy Rollins.............. 8-)

Vitters now 2 for 5 + a BB, he got an infield single to lead off the 10th (Boise gave up a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th).

Ryan Flaherty with a double now...2 for 6 on the night. Vitters scores on a throwing error.

8-7 Boise leads in the top of the 10th, they better score some more because they'll be forced to use a position player (Ryan Sontag) for the save.

I guess I really hadn't noticed how solid of a season Guyer is having. If he can handle playing CF (which he did tonight, I don't know how frequently he's done it this year) that's a nice upside.

Knoxville News-Sentinel"]Hendry liked what he saw Friday out of Smokies reliever Jose Ceda, whose fastball topped out at 99 mph.

"He needs to pitch and work on his other pitches," Hendry said. "That's why we started him early in the year. He's a 21-year-old kid and he has a bright future."

Cubs.com"]Michael Brenly had two hits and three RBIs, as Class A Boise beat Vancouver, 9-7, in 10 innings on Saturday. Outfielder Ryan Sontag picked up his first save -- he did walk the bases loaded, but none scored in the 10th inning. Josh Vitters extended his hitting streak to 22 games, going 2-for-5. He's hitting .374 in that stretch. "Everything he hits is right on the barrel," said Cubs TV analyst Bob Brenly, who watched Vitters when he went to visit his son in Boise. Michael Brenly will participate in the Cubs' instructional league after Boise's season ends, along with Vitters and Andrew Cashner.

Not really surprising that those three are going to instructs.
