I was getting nearly every Cubs game in HD with Direct TV, but lately, including tonight, I can only get the game in SD on channel 666. Hope this is not a trend- do us Direct TV people need to switch to Comcast in order to see ALL the Cubs games in HD? During tonight's telecast they said that the game is available in HD- I take it to mean that its available in HD to Comcast subscribers? Then something came on the screen to say that the game was available in HD on Direct tv channel 668-1, but it wasn't there, and when I try to access the game in HD on channels 646 and 725-1 it says "blacked out in this market." Are those of you with Comcast getting the game in HD tonight?

There have been plenty of Cubs broadcasts only in SD on DirecTV. Every WGN game is SD-only on DirecTV, for example.

Kind of sucks, but it's true. Until DirecTV gets WGNHD this will continue. Also--I don't see a CSN+ HD option, so yes I guess us DirecTV subscribers are in worse shape.

I've been watching oppo team broadcasts for HD through EI. Which is alright, but I'd rather stick with Len/Bob.

Superstar- I"m guessing you are outside Chicago? Here in Chicago, we get all the WGN games in HD on Direct TV, but we don't have the option of watching the other teams network in HD through MLB EI. Watching baseball in SD on a flat panel tv blows.

I'm outside Chicago. I'm guessing you're getting WGNHD as a local channel then.

My screen name is soul, but you can call me superstar any time you want.

One thing I WISH that DirecTV would do is let you know which telecast is on which channel.

I hate it when I set my DVR to record the Cubs HD games and there are two regular games and two HD games, and you have no idea if you are getting the CSN game or the other teams broadcast.

Last night I had the same problem - the HD game was the one I recorded and I got nothing on the playback. I tried to watch it as the game was in the 7th inning when I got home and the channel didn't work. I didn't have it blacked out, it just wouldn't load. I reset my DVR machine too, and nothing.

Generally the first set of channels is the visiting team telecast and the second set is the home team. So, for example, if a Cubs at Marlins game is televises on 725, 725-1, 726, and 726-1, the 725s are the Cubs telecast and the 726s are the Marlins.

so I finally got an email answer from DirecTV about the CSN+ deal. they basically said they are working on getting it back in HD but I can enjoy the quality programming CSN has to offer on channel 665-1 as if that helps any of us
