One more stat to hit ludicrous speed for the Cubs:

The Cubs have held a lead in their last 34 home games, dating back to a 4-3 loss to the Astros on the 4th game of the season that, at the time, dropped their home record to 1-3. They did tie the game briefly in the bottom of the 7th, though.

To play off that, I forget what it was, but I think either just before the TOR series, in the TOR series, or TB series; the string was snapped, of 20-some straight games that the Cubs had a lead in - or Len kept reminding us (not that I minded being kept in the know of such a stat).

I remember that; I believe it was snapped the same game the 9-game winning streak ended.

That streak was broken June 4 against the Pads, a 2-1 loss.

To add to that, I think I can count with the fingers on one hand the number of games the Cubs just got flat-out beat.

I think we should start calling Dempster the SEC Advisory pitcher. "Past performance is no indicator of future results."

Unless you go all the way back to 2000, when Ryan put up a 120 ERA+ and was an All Star for the Marlins. Long time ago though.
