Colvin's last 10 games (43 PA's): .286/.419/.514, 8/5 BB/K

 

I'm just as confused as you are.

 

But hey, if Colvin ends the season with an OBP over .400, I don't think any of us will complain.

Did somebody work with him during the offseason? I haven't seen any of the games but it does seem that he is trying to get rid of that free swinging mentality.

I've heard the Cubs have been preaching a more patient approach system-wide the past 2 seasons...might show in the minor league play of guys like Cedeno and Pie already. We'll see if Colvin also has adapted (and keeps it up) or if this is just an anamoly. He said last offseason that his patience was his biggest weakness and that he needed to work on it (but that he wasn't comfortable hitting behind in the count).
