Anyone know how Prior is doing? I keep waiting for him to pitch and for some reason I don't see him on an active roster even though I was told many times he'd be back soon by many posters. Maybe Budhouse wasn't the only poster that was wrong and we should bring those threads back every time Prior is on the DL.

The optimism surrounding Prior was natural as a result of positive reports (which turned out to be false/wrong) from bloggers last year early in spring training. Once he actually went out on the mound throwing in the mid 80s, you would've been hard pressed to find too many posters optimistic about Prior in 2007.

The desire to keep Prior around last offseason was based on the thought that we should take a flier on him in case he ever were able to recover. I highly doubt anybody was confident in that actually happening, although there was mild optimism because they had supposedly found "something" in his shoulder during the surgery. He went on to have further unfortunate setbacks in his rehab and another surgery. There's really no 'I told you so's' to be made.

The reason you found yourself in so many debates about Prior was because you repeatedly made (essentially) baseless claims that he was on steroids. Pitchers don't have to be former steroid users to break down. Just ask Dusty.

I'm not into the I told you so but the fact that this thread continues to be one is beating a dead horse. You are wrong about the info on Prior as well. You continue to harp on the steroid issue but that wasn't all I said but it seems to be all you can remember since it helps your point.

I'd like to know exactly what it is I'm wrong about, but I don't want this thread to veer off the subject (especially the "harping" part, as I don't believe I've even discussed the issue this calendar year).

IMO, there's nothing wrong with bumping this thread in support of what Wood has been doing and it's all in fun... Much like the Zambrano thread on Cubs.com in 2003.

If you really have a big issue with it, why don't you discuss locking it with the other mods? *shrug*

Because it's a personal thing for me and that shouldn't determine what's good for the board.

The Z thread was different because it was started by a Card troll and Budhouse felt that Wood would break down or not be able to be a good closer, which he has been wrong so far, and imo that's different.

BudHouse exhibits pretty trollish behavior himself. Does he ever even post besides when Wood blows a save?

(To his "credit," I don't think he made an appearance Saturday)

He just seems like a guy who dislikes Wood big time to me. We have a lot of posters that don't like some players, granted mostly Marquis, for some reason or an other.

I think a mod posted in here earlier that he's banned...

Ok, I'm locking this.

1) Budhouse is no longer a poster on this board, so mocking him is a little pointless.

2) There isn't a lot baseball discussion going on in here now.

3) There's a more appropriate Wood thread that was started, so lets praise Wood there rather than beat down ex-posters here.
