Well, I'm going against the grain here. If I was Steinbrenner I would dig up the damn shirt too. I'm not really a superstitious person but the last thing I would need is to hear from the media is about the "curse of the shirt" every time my team would collapse or miss the playoffs. No thanks

Why in the heck would they waste their time and money to dig it up? Completely stupid.

 

 

It's really astonishing. And the idea they might pursue legal action against the guy who did it is equally insane. What would the charges be?

Personally, other than the predictably overblown coverage, I think it's a cute story.

 

It's full of the amazing self-centeredness and absurd gestures that define the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, which I enjoy quite a bit.

 

The Red Sox fan does something petty and pointless, and the Yankees monumentally overreact with no regard for costs. Seems about right, doesn't it?
