O's sign Cintron

Orioles signed infielder Alex Cintron to a minor league contract.

 

Cintron picked the Cubs over the Orioles in mid-February, but it looks like he now realizes that was a mistake. While he's just a mediocre utilityman, he's still probably an upgrade over Luis Hernandez and Brandon Fahey at short. He'll report to Triple-A for now, but he might be a regular for the Orioles by the start of May.
