Yeah this will likely really suck for the thousands of out-of-towners who are counting on a 3-day weekend in Chicago capped off with a Cubs game. Not everyone who goes to Cubs games are from the city and can just take another day off work.

Werd. I just called emailed my teachers monday telling them that i'll be unable to attend. I'm working opening day because they were in need of help with all the hoopla surrounding the Ernie Banks thing - anyway, I don't want to have to call off tuesday too. Let's go, weather. Stay clear plz. Though, I'd be seriously down for some 60 degree temps.

The more I think about it, unless we have a weather pattern change, I doubt they play the game. They don't want guys getting hurt obviously and they already have Tuesday open, with sunny skies in the forecast. I think we're all going to have to wait one more excruciating day.

I doubt that'll be the case. The forecast really isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. I think they'll get the game in (the start might be delayed a bit), and it's going to be pretty damn nice out when they do. We'll see.

As much as I hope your right, I just don't think so...

According to Skilling's latest update (not sure when it was), the storms come in the morning and then pick up again at night. That's gonna leave an awful wet field, and who knows if we get any rain in between. Trust me, I want this game to be played Monday more than anyone here, but I just don't see it happening.

Didn't they just install a brand new state of the art drainage system? I'd expect the field to be in pretty good shape.

Mike Hill was saying today that they are going to absolutely everything in their power to get the game in monday. Mainly because they have LOTS of sports stars/politicians coming in for the Ernie Banks ceremony and they don't want to have to move everything back a day. Game included.

That is what I was hoping to hear.

Chilly early. Rain/t-storms diminishing by afternoon. Turning much warmer with strong south winds. Southern sections reach the 70s. Heavy thunderstorms overnight.

Keep your fingers crossed

My grades are slipping enough this semester. I really can't afford to skip another day in the event the game is rescheduled. This rain better stay away.

It would really piss me off if it got PPD for Tuesday because it probably wouldn't be televised outside of Chicago and I've (like most) been ready to kill for Monday to come. I can't wait another day.
It may not be televised by ESPN2, but it would by WGN, so anyone who gets WGN on cable or satellite would get the game. Maybe not in HD, though. :(

Boy I really hope weather.com's hourly forecast is wrong.

If it's right, there will be no game.

weather.com is always wrong. never visit that site

Ha, I don't think they are ALWAYS wrong, but yes I know it's less accurate than local forecasts.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jim Ramsey from WGN doesn't seem to optimistic... also, we now have rain/snow?! forecasted for Tuesday... yikes.

That would make it seem all the more likely that they'd do everything in their power to get it in Monday... We'll see.

its incredibly hard to predict hour by hour the weather over a day away but here is another hourly forecast from the National Weather Service

http://forecast.weather.gov//MapClick.php?w0=t&w1=td&w3=sfcwind&w5=pop&w7=thunder&w8=rain&AheadHour=0&Submit=Submit&FcstType=graphical&textField1=42.03095&textField2=-87.81718&site=lot

Truffle is right, if we can get into the warm sector that would give a better chance of getting the game in. Also the winds will be howling out to left

Or you could have just spelled "you're" properly. Ur works also though.
