In a 12 team keeper league, where you can keep 1800 points, and players with less than 4 yrs service time are exempt, would you trade:

A second round pick (17 overall)

for

3B- Garrett Atkins (exempt)

SP- Andrew Miller (exempt)

SP- Anibal Sanchez (exempt)

5th rounder (49 overall)

5th rounder (51st overall)

What type of guys will be around with the 17th pick?

Three exempt players, plus two draft picks, just for one draft pick? Unless there's some catch I'm not thinking of I'd do it in a heartbeat. Sounds too good to be true.

Well, here is the reality fo the deal:

I offered the package for Oswalt and the #17 pick. The team I offered it to almost certainly has to drop Oswalt because of other points he will keep, and he will also be dropping all but 2 position players, including all of his 3B. So, because Oswalt will be dropped, the net worth of this trade is what I originally posted.

The other team is a new owner, taking over for an owner who did not do a good job of drafting or trading for exempt players or minor leaguers. The new owner has dropped Oswalt and Zambrano, because his points are eaten up by Soriano, Victor Martinez, and a couple of other pitchers.
