Hi -

My apologies if this topic has come up already. I recently bought an HDTV and signed up for comcast HD service. I've noticed that the sporting events that I've seen on CSNHD so far (Bulls games, spring training Cubs/Sox games) have been broadcast in what appears to be a non-HD signal. For those that have had CSNHD in years past, I have a question -- will the quality improve once regular season baseball begins?

Thanks!

If the Bulls or Cubs or any Chicago team is playing "Away", then there is a great chance that the games will not be in HD. When teams travel, they don't bring the HD cameras so away games are mostly not in HD. If the Cubs play at Home or the Bulls play at Home then the games will always be in HD.

This will no longer be the case this year. All road broadcasts on WGN and CSN (even WCIU, if I remember correctly) will be in HD.

I'm pretty sure Bulls road games are already being broadcast in HD on CSN. At least, I watched one a few nights ago that was.

Yeah, as has already been mentioned, the picture quality will improve once they start broadcasting the regular season in HD. I don't have Comcast, but through DirecTV, their HD picture quality has looked pretty solid in the past.

I've enjoyed their widescreen format as an alternative to HD, though.

For the Chicago-area DirecTV customers out there, I looked into it and it appears that WCIU HD is not offered. I'll try to call at some point to see if they'll pick it up at some point, but otherwise, it's only available via OTA or cable.
