There's actually a previous thread dealing with this.

We did add some code that half-fixed this problem. As long as a link is provided using the http:// code, then it will pop a new window. If someone just puts in a url though, and lets the board software do the linking...then it pops in the same window. Not sure what can be done about that.

It actually never opens in a new tab/window now, even with the tags. Your code half-un-fixed the problem.

Oops...yes. It's a matter of dueling requests. I should read closer.

Perhaps you could teach me about reading before replying, Bob?

There is a way to get around it. You can right-click on the link, then click "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab." It's not as convenient as having it automatically open in a new window, but it's something that works.

What's the reason why it won't work now but it worked in the old format of NSBB?

Someone more knowledgeable about the board software than me would have to answer that.

Damned shame you couldn't make that open in a new window/tab, eh?

I haven't figured this one out yet...but in the meantime you can always make links open in new windows by holding down the control key when you click on them.
