If the price is right?

The past three years he's put up OPS+ of 103, 121, 114. His career OPS+ is higher than Hunter's and he has to only be making a small fraction of the cost at his age with his suspension. He's played in pitcher's parks his entire career. Cameron's 25 game suspension could be used to see what Fuld and Patterson can do with some time in the majors.

I don't actually have a lot of faith in Pie so if the Cubs got Fukudome and Cameron I'd be fine with it, but that's not going to happen, I'm just interested in how much this suspension will hurt Cameron's value, for $7-8 million I think he'd be a very good buy, however I don't really know what the market will bear in this case.

Not a glamorous scenario but I guess I've always been a bigger Cameron fan than the average person. I know the idea will be universally reviled, I guess I'd just like to see why.

I still don't understand why people are so worried about Pie; the guy has absolutely tore up every level he's been at. Hell, after we called him up he even had a solid two week stretch before going into a little slump and then getting benched. No player, or rather very few of them, come straight up from the minors and start Pujols-ing right away. He's young - he's going to have some growing pains, but he hasn't showed any reason yet as to why he won't be a solid starter. What he did at the major league level is something he did at every level he was placed at. He struggled for a little while. The difference is at the other levels he wasn't benched, he played through it and each time he ended up tearing it up. Just let the kid play.

I'd be all about it, if the price is right. I think that Cameron is generally underappreciated. As far as Pie goes, I think, and I'm really just guessing here, that badnews' hesitation isn't because of his sparse playing time in the majors. I think it's more to do with the fact that he can't hit lefties to save his life, he's shown limited plate discipline, and he strikes out an awful lot - he's very toolsy, but there are doubts as to whether he'll ever translate into the star we're all hoping for.

Right. And if we're not going to let him play, let's use him to get Khalil Greene!

100% in agreement with you! I don't think Pie is CPat revisited either. If the Cubs give up on Pie, he will be a GREAT player somewhere else. I for one don't want to watch Felix kill the Cubs year in and year out playing for another team.
