It would've been cool to see Maddux return to Atlanta for a final year as well.

 

Speaking of former Braves... writing what I wrote above caused me to think of Steve Avery. I went to his baseball reference page, and saw that after pitching for the Reds in '99, he was out of baseball til '03 where he had a brief stint with Detroit. Why was he out for a few years? Was it injuries, or lack of talent at that point?

Im pretty sure it was injuries, but I cant remember what the injury was exactly.
