Tigers re-signed RHP Todd Jones to a one-year, $7 million contract.

 

It was to be expected after Joel Zumaya went down. Jones is a thoroughly mediocre reliever these days, with a 4.09 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 125 1/3 innings the last two years, but the Tigers feel comfortable with him closing and that's worth $7 million to them. At least it's not a multiyear deal.
