Hey SoCal Cubs fans

Just moved to Newport Beach (it's super nice, but I am already missing being a bicycle ride away from Wrigley, especially this time of year). Probably a dumb question, but are there any Cubs fan bars in SoCal? I figured I'd ask because I heard that there are a couple Bears-and-Bulls-fanatic bars in LA. If so, where? Thanks in advance dudes.

I'm in San Diego, but I'm not really familiar with any actual Cub or Bears fan bars.

 

A good friend of mine has a bar in San Diego and he's from Chicago. It's probably the most successful sports bar in San Diego. He has the Chicago Cubs on deck circle as the mat you step on when you enter his bar. The on deck circle was used in Jack Murphy (Qualcomm) Stadium.

 

But, even his place is more of a sports bar for all sports. His partner is from Boston, so they get a big Patriots/Red Sox contingent in there as well.

 

Newport Beach looks like a pretty nice place. Haven't spent any time there, though.

There's a Portillo's in Buena Park, just a stone's throw from Knott's Berry Farm. But you might want to call ahead to see if they have televisions. Still it's a great place to get your Italian beef and Chicago Dog fix!

Dunno about the OC but there's a really big Bears bar in Burbank (The Tin Horn) that I've been to once. I believe with the weird zoning laws in Burbank, they can't stay open for all weekend night games (they couldn't be open for the Super Bowl!) but they try to convert it to a Cubs or White Sox bar when the respective Chicago baseball teams make the playoffs. Try being the key word, they are a Bears bar first and foremost.

I lived in West LA for 5 years before moving to the desert and in those 5 years, I had never found a bar dedicated to 1 team, much less a cubs bar. LA is such a melting pot that in 98 I was in a bar watching the 1 game playoff and there were Oriole fans there.

I think football-only bars are easier to find for teams besides the Chargers and Raiders since there is no real local football team in the area.
