Someone needs to tell Jacque that he doesn't have to swing in every hitter's count. That 3-1 pitch was nowhere near the strikezone.

Oh Bob. U so funnay!

That said, I want Steve Stone back. He got a call on Boers and Berns asking him if he would come back, and he said something along the lines of "The door is open."

Eventually, someone is going to hire Brenly to be a manager and Stone will naturally return to the booth...unless he gets a GM gig somewhere.

Never gonna happen.

He's almost made it crystal clear he doesn't want to GM. Many want him to, though.

We better not get Dave Otto or especially Dan Plesac as the color man.

It's hard enough to handle 162 games of Cubs baseball....Plesac would make the season even more excruciating

Who would be stupid enough to want Stone to GM?

The Nationals?

hit? that's a generous ruling.

Hard to give Ramirez an error on that, and they pretty much never give an error to a first baseman on a scoop.(which I disagree with, it's part of their job, that's an error on Lee.)

I'd give the error to Ramirez. He made a good play fielding the grounder, but he had enough time to get the runner by a step or two. He made a bad throw, so to me that's an error.

The throw bounced, but it was right on line, that's an easy scoop that most first baseman make.

I'm guessing the source of people wanting Stone as GM is Steve Stone.

I'm guessing Stone's making clear he has no interest in being a GM is based on the actual interest in his GMing.

Don't get me wrong, he wouldn't be the worst GM in baseball, but the other awful GMs get their chances because they've worked their way up through the system making excellent coffee.

considering that lee is one of the best in the game at scooping balls in the dirt, i don't see how you can say that "most first basemen" make that play

Have you heard Stone on WSCR? He would probably be the worst GM.
