8 team league (1 of the teams is a dummy bye week team).

 

Basically this is an auction based league and I ended up with Larry Johnson and LaDanian Tomlinson, but then had no money left over to get a formidable quarterback. Another team offered me Peyton Manning for Larry Johnson and I'm not too sure what I should do. I know Larry Johnson is a higher valued fantasy player but my team does desperately need a good QB and I do have some decent depth at RB if Travis Henry stays healthy.

Can you post your league scoring rules for QB's and RB's?

I wouldn't trade him either. Favre is actually a decent fantasy QB (assuming INT's aren't counted too much against). And Alex Smith could be this year's Philip Rivers type QB.

Basically I was thinking the same way Ryno and Pitch were, but everyone in my league was acting like I screwed myself when I spent most of my points on the first couple of players. The guy with Manning also has Brees and his starting RBs are Benson and Barber III... in a league with 7 active players. I also play him week 1 so I've all but ruled out trading him LJ before then (even though I've heard he won't be 100% in week 1).

It really depends on how many attempts you think Johnson is going to get this year. If you think he will challenge his own record from last year, then hold on to him. If you believe that KC is going to try to lighten the load off of him slightly and use Bennett a little more, then trade him.

 

Manning will score more points than Johnson in that format, but Favre will score a lot of points in that format as well.

 

The final question is-how much do you trust Marshawn Lynch? I wouldn't put my faith in any Denver RB for a full season because they love to change starters in Denver from game to game. You might have to turn to Lynch if that happens.

 

So for your particular format, I guess I am leaning towards not making the deal, but the injury concerns for LJ have to make me strongly consider it.
