Im really surprised at the rankings he is getting. 7th best QB and being drafted low to mid rounds? Seems like Mike Vick/Kordell Stewart Part 2 when it comes to fantasy hype. Member a couple years ago when Vick was like 2-3 ranked QB, this is it all over again.

Im staying away from him until he does something to warrant that high of pick. Id rather have Rivers in a heartbeat.

He was the 14th overall pick in the draft that I had last night, which is about 45 spots ahead of where I'd begin to consider drafting him

Last year Vick was the number 2 rated QB right between Manning and Brees. It depends on your league settings, but with Yahoo's default settings, that was the case. Young could rush for 600-700 yards and 6-8 TDs (had 550/7 last year). Add that into his passing stats, and he very well could be a top 3 or so QB.

That said, I wouldn't draft him. He's on the cover of Madden so he'll tear his ACL in week 2.

See this is crazy love. Man thats nuts.

Yahoo points 2006: VY 14 games.

Young=144

Rivers=172

Now thats a lot of points to make up for VY. Also no way do i see LT scoring another 28tds. Rivers is going to have more redzone opportunities and should put up more than 22TDs. That team is still going to move the ball.

Also VY's completion % is 51%. That sucks. He really needs to improve on that to be a better QB and thats what these people are counting on when the draft him so early.

Heck Rex Grossman had 144 pts last year. He'll probably throw for more TDs and less picks. Would i draft him mid rounder, hell no.

2005 Mike Vick 156 pts as another reference point.

LT gets the ball in the red zone so much because there is nobody to throw to besides him and Gates. Of course, you could say the same thing about Young, but I'd be hesitant to guarantee that LT will get fewer TD's at Rivers' expense.

I cant believe how high Young is going..I consider him a #2 QB,he's one of those guys who you dont feel comfortable as your #1 and dont know what your gonnna get.Especially with a crappy Titans offense..Vick to me is overrated..He's just a RB playing a QB..ALways had to many INT's and averaged like 150 yards a game.McNabb is the guy Id go with..Young going ahead of guys like Hasslebeck?? No way..Young is a guy to go with after all the big and good names are off the board

I agree, their receiving corps is less than desirable. But how likely is it for Eric Parker to have 48 catches for 600+ yards and 0 Tds again. Heck McCardell had 36 catches and 400+ yards with 0 TDs as well. Thats 1,000 yards and 0 TDs. Now those guys might not be RZ threats (KM is gone) but youd think with that many yards they could get at least 1 TD and likely 4.

Im not so hesitant because LT put up an NFL record 28TDs. This is almost like assuming Manning was going to repeat the 2004 year of 49TDs in 2005. Maybe not 49 but people were assuming 40+. It just seems more likely for LT to not repeat than repeat. They are still going to move the ball so the opportunities will come from somewhere.

I dont know what people are hanging their hat on when it comes to VY.

Lt gets the ball so much because he's LT..Thats whats nice about him and Larry Johnson and when there was Priest Holmes..the guys are so good and trusted..They get the ball in the red zone even if its 3rd down..and alot of plays in the field even if its like 3rd and 8..VY hasnt proven anything yet..I don't get why he's going so high..I jsut have one word for him. This is just the local medias take but the recieving corps for the Titans is improved over last years. The feeling is a mid round reciever has already made strides and may end up being a steal for the slot they were selected in.

There is also some talk of Young and the offensive co-ordinator being more comfortable with each other and the offense. Basicly last year was a learning experience with both and now that they know what works and what dosent. It has lead to a reworking of some plays and building on what are percieved as Youngs strengths. I take that to mean that Young will have several checks then is free to run if needed.

I am a KC Chiefs fan myself, family ties, so about what I know is what I have read in the paper. With that said there are no Bruces here, but no Sullivans either.

I don't understand the VY hate. I guess it's not really "hate", but if you're in a league where a rushing TD (6) is worth more than a passing TD (4), then Vince is definitely a top 6-7 QB. Also have to remember that he was a rookie last year. No reason his numbers shouldn't go up at least a little.

That being said, I wouldn't draft him before the 5th round, in any league. In a league where QBs get 4 pts for a passing TD, I wouldn't pick a QB before the 3rd round, and that's just Manning.
