Pick'em contests, Survival Football

In a few days I plan to set up leagues for Pro and College Pick'em contests and Survival Football on Yahoo. When I do I'll post the information both here and on Windy City Football. Before I do that I want to see if people have preferences with respect to straight picks vs. point spreads vs. confidence points for the Pick'em contests. Accordingly I have set up polls on Windy City Football for that purpose. If you plan to participate in either or both of the Pick'em contests and have a preference, please visit Windy City Football and vote.

This could change as more people vote, but at the moment the preference seems to be for straight picks in the NFL contest and point spreads for the college contest.

I've set the contests up. Group IDs are as follows:

 

Pro Pick'em--41707

College Pick'em--24709

Survival Football--15599

 

The password is WCFB for all three (this is football, after all :D ).

 

Based on the results of the polls I ran on WCFB I set it up as straight picks for pro pick'em and confidence points for college. If anybody has a strong preference for a different method they can set up a group using that method; there's no reason there has to be only one group for each contest. You can participate in more than one group just like you can participate in more than one fantasy league. There's room for 50 people in each contest, so feel free to invite others.

Even though the college contest has already started it isn't to late to join the party. It is possible to miss a week and still win the overall championship (a couple of years ago I clinched the championship with a week remaining and could have sat out the last week). Even if the overall championship is out of grasp it's still possible to win individual weeks, and I plan to keep a running list of weekly winners (I'll do that on the league message board on Yahoo). Only 8 members so far, so come join the fun.

Remember, there's an early deadline for submitting your Survival Football pick this week (if you haven't already done so) because of the Thursday night season opener. The Pick'em deadline is 5 minutes before each game, so if you forget to submit those picks early you can still pick all games except for the early game. Still room for more in all contests.

The Survival Football contest has ended; MPC was the last participant remaining. Because there's still well over half the season remaining I've reset it and a brand new contest begins this week. Since this is a completely new contest people that missed out on signing up originally can join now. If you signed up for the original one you don't need to do so again. If anybody new wants to join the group ID is 15599 and the password is WCFB.
