Some interesting pitching to watch today that's for sure. Hope Shark gets to pitch too.

Yeah, I'll say. Mateo, Holliman, Atkins, Papelbon, and maybe even Samardzija. That sounds pretty good :)

Should be nice to see Papelbon, any scouting on him Raisin?

Mid 80s FB, plus offspeed pitch (I believe it's a slider), good command, has good deception.

Already 2 other FSL doubleheaders have been rained out and Daytona is being delayed by rain.

ETA: Looks like they've started after about a 1.5 hour delay.

Peoria's leadoff hitter is posting the always great .136/.161/.153 line.

Daytona loses the opener of the twinbill, 7-2. Atkins only lasted 3 innings and gave up 6 hits, 6 runs, 2 K's/3 BB's, and gave up a homer. Matt Camp went 3/3 with a double and Clevenger and Dope were each 1/3. Not much else on the offensive end for the D-Cubs.

Peoria down 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th. Good outing for Papelbon so far: 5 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 2 K's/1 BB. The Chiefs only have one hit thru 6; a single by LeClerc (the batter that was sporting that nice line that Raisin mentioned).

Felix has a single for Iowa and that game is scoreless thru 1 and 1/2.

Tennessee scoreless in the 2nd as well.

Samardzija does indeed get the start in game two.

Peoria loses 3-1. Papelbon's final line: 5+, 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 K's/1 BB. Wellington Castillo had an RBI triple and that was the only other hit for the Chiefs tonight, besides Leclerc's single.

Shark finished with a good effort: 6 IP, 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 K's/1 BB, 1 HR allowed. He had no run support, however and Daytona lost 2-0. Rea and Harvey were each 1/3 and Matulia was 1/1. Dope was 0/3 with a strikeout.

Iowa lost 6-1. So-so outing for Mateo tonight: 6 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 K's/2 BB's. Piggy and Cotts each threw a scoreless inning and Wells gave up two runs in the 9th. Felix was 2/4 with a double. Soto and Fox were each 1/4 with a double apiece. EPatt was 0/4.

Tennessee up 3-2 in the 9th. Holliman went 6, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 6 K's/1 BB, and gave up a homer. Casey McGehee has a 2-run homer. Colvin is not in the lineup tonight.

I wonder what is going on. Last night he hit a HR then was taken out by Listash. At the end of the game I didn't see him come out of the dugout.

He didn't look hurt running around the bases.

What a crappy day offensively for everybody. Nothing to write home about at all.

Let's hope Boise can get some fireworks going.
