nope, it was koyie hill.

It couldn't possibly have been. It was Soto that was sent down to make room for Kendall.

Hey look up, you might catch that joke as it's going over your head

One of Iowa's games tonight was the completion of a suspended game... Koyie Hill played until the game was suspended, so he appears in the box score.

IowaCubs.com"]Cubs Split With Express

Cubs Fall to Express in 13 Innings

By Andrea Breen / Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs split two games with the Round Rock Express Tuesday night, winning the first, 9-7, and falling, 5-4, in 13 innings in the second game.

The first game was a completion of a suspended game on May 24. The Cubs scored twice in the top of the tenth inning, to take a 9-7 lead, taking advantage of four walks, a sacrifice fly and a fielders choice RBI ground out.

The Cubs dropped the second game, 5-4, as the Cubs were forced to use catcher Mike Mahoney as a pitcher late in the game. Mahoney surrendered a home run to Round Rock's Mark Saccamano in what proved to be the deciding run in the 13th inning.

Scott Moore hit a two-run homer for Iowa. The home run was Moore's fifth in four games.

Brooks Conrad tied the game in the fourth inning with his third home run in two days.

The Cubs appeared to have the game in hand, but Felix Pie dropped a two-out fly ball in the bottom of the seventh inning that would have clinched the win for the Cubs. The error cost the Cubs a run and tied the game, 4-4, which led to Saccamano's 13th inning game-winning homer.

Tony Richie extended his hit streak to eight games with a double in the sixth inning.

Stephen Randolph picked up the win for Round Rock and Mike Mahoney was tagged with the loss for Iowa.

SmokiesBaseball.com"]Stars shine in win 8-2 win over Smokies

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville's Ryan Crew singled in the go-ahead run in a six-run rally to help lead the Stars to an 8-2 victory over the Tennessee Tuesday night. The Smokies loss drops them two back of the first place Stars in the Southern League North division.

Joe Simokaitis helped the Smokies tie the score by connecting on his second home run of the season in the third. He then doubled in Issmael Salas in the sixth to give Tennessee a 2-1 lead. Simokaitis' perfect night ended though when he short-hopped a routine throw to first base with two-out and a runner at third, which tied the score at 2-2.

Huntsville jumped on the Smokies' Grant Johnson (0-1) for six runs in the seventh. Johnson yielded six earned runs on just two hits in 1 1/3 innings of work, but walked two and also hit two Stars batters.

The Smokies' Justin Berg did well in his six-inning start, only allowing one earned run on five hits. He struck out six.

The Smokies will play Game Two of the series with the Stars Wednesday night, as Tennessee's Paul Schappert (3-5) will go up against the Huntsville's Derek Miller (0-0). Tennessee will be back at Smokies Park for a five-game series with the Carolina Mudcats starting on July 23. DaytonaCubs.com"]Reds Take Advantage of Cubs' Errors

Daytona Fights Hard, Comes Up Short, 8-6

[DAYTONA BEACH, FL] The Cubs scraped and fought to get back into Tuesday night's ballgame at "The Jack," but an early five-run deficit proved to be too much as Dayonta came up short, 8-6, against a solid Sarasota team.

It wasn't so much the offensive prowess that set Daytona back to such a difficult margin; it was their defense. The Cubs committed a season-high five errors on Tuesday to propel the visiting Reds past Daytona.

The Reds (14-12) seized the first inning, putting up five runs on four base hits and two costly errors. With a large lead in place, the Cubs knew what was ahead of them. Daytona managed to plate one run in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Harvey that scored Matt Camp from third, but after one, it was 5-1 Sarasota.

The top of the third was more of the same as the Reds brought home two more runs on two base hits to extend their lead to the biggest of the night at 7-1. But Daytona came storming back in their half of the third. Matt Matulia led off with an infield single, Brian Dopirak ripped a single to center and newcomer Steve Clevenger singled home Matulia to make it a five-run game. With two down in the inning, Jeff Rea laced a triple to the gap to score Dopirak and Clevenger and Rea scored on a passed ball during Yusuf Carter's at-bat to make the score, 7-5.

The Cubs showcased their newest arm in Yusdel Tuero who lasted three innings on the mound and allowed no runs, no hits and walked only one. Tuero left the bases loaded in the sixth after plunking two consecutive batters and walking another by working a little magic via the strikeout. After a scoreless top half of the seventh, the game remained close, 7-5.

The Cubs managed another run in the seventh as Matulia scored on a double that Kyle Reynolds tried to stretch into three bags but was gunned down 9-4-5 to halt the rally. After seven complete, Daytona had clawed their way back to a one-run game.

Tim Layden worked out of a jam in the top of eight and the Cubs left Carter standing on second in the bottom of the eighth as the Reds clung to the narrowest of margins.

On one swing of the bat B.J. Szymanski blasted a solo home run to give Sarasota a two-run lead that the Cubs could not handle.

Matt Matulia and Kyle Reynolds had three hits each and were responsible for three of the Cubs' six runs in the losing effort.

The Cubs will try again tomorrow night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark against these same Sarasota Reds. First pitch is at 7:05pm and tickets are still available for the game. For more information, contact the Cubs' offices at (386)257-3172.

PeoriaChiefs.com"]Chiefs Homer Past Swing 8-3

South Bend, IN – The Peoria Chiefs scored twice in the first inning and hit three solo homers to start a four game series in South Bend with an 8-3 win Tuesday night. The victory, powered by two Blake Lalli homers, moves the Chiefs to 14-10 in the half as they stay in first place.

Peoria got the series off to a promising start in the first inning against Hawks starter Anthony Barnette. Ryne Malone led off with a single to right and came around to score when Jim Adduci tripled into the left-centerfield gap. After a lineout, Russ Canzler put the Chiefs up 2-0 with a hard groundout to shortstop that scored Adduci.

The Chiefs added to their lead in the second inning against Barnette. With one out, catcher Wellington Castillo worked a four pitch walk and advanced to second on a ground out. Nate Samson singled into center to score Castillo for a 3-0 Peoria lead. The Silver Hawks got on the board in their half of the second when MWL RBI-leader Danny Perales launched a solo homer into the right field berm off Chiefs starter Jose Pina. The homer was the 12th of the season for Perales, and his second off Pina in as many games.

Both teams added runs in the fourth on solo homers. For the Chiefs, Blake Lalli drilled his second homer of the season into the right field berm for a 4-1 Peoria lead. Each of Lalli’s homers have come on the road this season. South Bend first baseman Brad Miller hit his 14th of the season in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead back down to two runs.

Peoria knocked Barnette from the game and added two runs in the seventh. With one out, Brian Leclerc doubled to left-center for his first extra base hit. Barnette walked Samson and was them removed for reliever Ramon Sanchez. After a groundout moved both runners up ninety feet, Adduci doubled to right-center to add a pair of runs and give the Chiefs a 6-2 lead.

South Bend came right back against Chiefs reliever Jayson Ruhlman in their half of the seventh. With one out, Ruhlman hit Ricardo Sosa and then Yunesky Sanchez delivered a RBI double to center to cut the Peoria lead to 6-3. After a strikeout, Matt Oxendine singled to center but Leclerc threw a one-hop strike and Castillo blocked the plate to tag out Sanchez and end the inning.

A pair of solo homers for the Chiefs in the top of the eighth put the game away. With one out, Lalli crushed the Chiefs longest homer of the season, his second of the game, over everything in right field. Two batters later, Castillo hit one out to left for an 8-3 lead. Castillo’s homer was his sixth of the season and second in his last four games.

Pina tossed six innings allowing two runs on a pair of solo homers. Overall he gave up four hits and walked one while striking out one. Ruhlman allowed one run on three hits and two hit batters in one inning of work. Alex Maestri got the Chiefs out of trouble in the eight and allowed just one base runner while striking out two in two innings of work.

Gorman’s Pub Player of the Game - Jim Adduci (RF) & Blake Lalli (DH): Adduci tripled home the Chiefs first run in the top of the 1st and scored in the inning. He doubled home two in the 7th and single in the 9th to finish 3-for-5 with two extra base hits and three RBI. Lalli homered in the 4th and 8th innings for his first career multi-homer game. The Chiefs DH has 12 hits in his last seven games and finished the game 2-for-4.

Notes...Blake Lalli is now 12-for-27 in his seven game hit streak with his first multi-homer game…The only other time the Chiefs hit three homers in the same game was June 2nd at home against Beloit…Today’s game kicks off a stretch where the Chiefs play each team in the Eastern Division four times for 24 consecutive games out of the division…Peoria went 15-9 against the East in the first half…Lalli’s homer was the first for the Chiefs in 44 2/3 innings…Pina has now allowed 14 homers on the season, three shy of the team’s single season record…The Chiefs four new players, Darwin Barney, Leon Johnson, Clark Hardman and Jose Ceda arrived in the bottom of the first inning after numerous flight delays out of Chicago…The four game series continues on Wednesday at 7:00 EST when the Chiefs send RH Marco Carrillo (3-3, 4.56) against Silver Hawks LHP Jordan Norberto (5-4, 5.31)…The game can be heard live beginning with the pre-game show at 5:45 PM Central time online at http://www.peoriachiefs.com or on WOAM 1350.

BoiseHawks.com"]Cabrera Gem - Four Hawk's Homers Down Sox

Alberto Cabrera pitched six brilliant innings and four different players launched home runs as the first place Boise Hawks beat the Everett Aqua Sox Tuesday night 8-1. Cabrera threw five no-hit innings before giving up a lead off single to Jeff Dunbar in the sixth. Cabrera then started a 1-4-3 double play and got the next batter to ground out to finish his work for the night. The only other base runner against him came from a lead off walk in the second inning that was promptly cut down trying to steal. Cabrera faced 18 batters in his six innings and struck out eight.

John Muller pitched two shutout innings and Oscar Bernard gave up the lone run for the Sox in the ninth inning.

The four Hawks home runs came from Bill Moss (1), Jonathan Wyatt (2), Marquez Smith (2) and new comer, Tony Thomas, his first in his first game with the Hawks, a two-run shot in the Hawk's four-run third inning. The other runs came from an RBI double by Ty Wright in the first inning and a bases loaded walk to Drew Rundle in the eighth inning.

The win maintains the Hawk's two game lead in the Eastern Division of the Northwest League.

The series continues Wednesday night as Chris Huseby goes to the mound for Boise. He will be opposed by the Aqua Sox Doug Salinas. Game time at Memorial Stadium in Everett, WA is 7:05 PST.
