After the AS break I'm really thinking Izturis, Jones, and Hill need to be replaced by Cedeno, Murton, and Soto.

Soriano

Fonte/DeRo

Lee

Aram

Floyd/Murton

Cedeno

Pagan/Pie

Soto/Bowen

Good Game.

dylan johnston has 9 errors already at boise? what a butcher.

From the 4 or so Boise games I've seen, his fielding has been ok (though he's gotten crossed up a few times and fielding errors that minor league SS just shouldn't). His throws are the worst, he tends to rush his throws and can get Rex Grossman happy feet.

And it's crazy that this is still the case, because I know that, when he was in Peoria, the coaches spent a huge amount of time trying to get him right in this area. If he can't get this fixed, it's not going to matter how good his bat is.

Daytona News-Journal[/url]"]DAYTONA BEACH -- Jeff Samardzija gave further evidence Thursday that he has broken out of a protracted funk.

The big Daytona Cubs right hander had his best outing of the season and picked up his second straight victory after starting out 0-5 this season. Backed by some slick glove work and power hitting, Samardzija won 4-1 over St. Lucie in the front end of a doubleheader.

Samarjzija hurled six innings and gave up six hits while striking out four in the seven-inningcontest. He gave up a solo home run to Ambiorix Concepcion in the second and was bailed out of two threats by an outfield assist by Chris Amador in the third and a 3-6-1 double play to end the sixth.

Samardzija said a bullpen assignment that helped him work on some mechanical problems with his delivery.

"I was really falling off with my leg kick and follow through," Samardzija said.

Daytona manager Jody Davis says there has been some definite improvement.

"Really his last two games before tonight have been good," Davis said. "But he's been pitching a lot better concentrating on hitting his spots and staying ahead of hitters."

With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, Josh Donaldson hits a walk-off solo HR to give Boise a 8-7 win.

So there's a chance this Donaldson might actually be good?

It's only Boise, but yeah

Did you hear that...

whiff

Theres Colvin again.

Everybody knew he would struggle being promoted so fast. The good thing is that he can spend a year and a half there without being behind on track, so it's just fine if he struggles the rest of the year there as long as he plays well next year.

Besides, his struggles have mostly been because of his disastrous start there (3 for his first 28). Since then,

38 AB's, .316/.333/.500

So he's been pretty good lately-he just needs to work on that K/BB ratio, which he has time to do.
