Solid game for Mitch Atkins: 7 IP (CG), 2 ER, 4 H, 3 K/1 BB.

Part of the reason for Sammy Baez's move from SS to OF is a shoulder surgery he had over the offseason.

Well, Dylan Johnston is 2-3... that's a positive I guess. Otherwise, Boise is getting smoked 5-0; lousy start (3.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) for Cabrera. And it's nice to see that Drew Rundle hasn't forgotten how to strike out during the past several months.

Josh Kroeger is 3-4 with 2 RBI in his first game for Iowa.

he looked really nice at the plate last nite...even with 3 of his 4 ab's coming against a lefty.

webb pulled a horseshoe out of his ass and pitched very well.

i would also like to add that hoffpauir's HR was smoked.

Hitting isn't really Dylan's problem - when he made contact, he generally hit OK. It's the K-rate that's been crazy.

Oh, and did I mention that he has 2 errors in 2 games in Boise? To go along with the 18 he had in 43 games as a Chief? His defense is *not* good...his arm is strong, but his fielding and throwing accuracy are the pits. I hope he doesn't end up back in Peoria, otherwise I might end up bald from the frustration.

I was listening to the Boise game yesterday and he was getting to the ball really well (made some great defensive plays, in fact). It's just what he did once he got the ball - he has a great arm with poor accuracy.

The Cubs certainly rushed Johnston given his K-rate and inability to make contact (Rundle might fall into the same boat).

Hey! What's up with that?

Always the last to know.

I know! I wish they'd tell me what I'm supposed to be doing! :P

You were probably getting in some work since, with the ASB, it would have been a big gap between starts.
