Win you overpaid, underachieving, overrated, bullpen blowing, stupid baserunning, bad offense, blaming day games, lazy, dumb, and Scott Eyre is fat and Howry is a poor mans Farnsworth...

Other then that I feel good about this series. Cubs take 2/3.

Henry Blanco is likely to become Carlos Zambrano's personal catcher from now on. "He pitched well with him [saturday], and I guess when Blanco goes out there he can speak a little Spanish with Zambrano," Piniella said.

I actually read that quote and was quite pleased with that move. I'm not sure it will help Z much (it might a little bit, but it's a very small variable) but the team really needs Barrett's bat in the game whenever Hill, Lilly, or Marshall pitches (to make up for their horrible pitcher bats). Considering Blanco is going to play 1 out of every 5 or so days anyway, making him Z's personal catcher is the best solution.

SOMEBODY TEACH BARRETT THAT HE'S ONLY USEFUL BECAUSE OF HIS BAT AND HE'S APPARENTLY FORGOTTEN HOW TO USE IT.

Why is Theriot batting 8th? Even though he is slumping a little, he can still give you better plate appearences than the top two in the lineup.

dear jim hendry,

I don't think it's that you are not making errors...it's the fact the errors are just braindead plays(i.e. see barrett yesterday) and you got a team that loves itself some fat bullpen pitchers. that being said the cubs will pry be no hit by kim today.

are we doing them "premium sweep" again?

I'm doing it until they actually sweep someone... which will probably be never

barring the nationals right..cuz even the cubs swept the nationals

I'll kick in for the sweep pool again...1/2 years premium for a sweep..

Just FYI for everyone...Freel looks to be hurt really bad...ambulance on the field....

He's not slumping a little-he's slumping bigtime. 1 for his last 13 with 1 walk, and 6 for his last 35 with 2 walks during that span and only 1 extra base hit (and he already was trending downward slightly before that). He needs to hit down in the lineup until he can turn this around.

Hasn't Zambrano always been significantly better with Blanco catching him?

Not really.

673 OPS against w/ Barrett behind the plate, 660 with Blanco.

He actually pitched extremely well to Paul Bako. Maybe he just imagined that paul was in the batter's box instead of behind the plate.
