REMEMBERING: Sunday was the ninth anniversary of Kerry Wood's 20-strikeout game against Houston. Wood remains on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis, but he and his wife, Sarah, plan to hold their second annual charity bowling event this month to raise money for Children's Memorial Hospital

I know, I hate to ask it too, but it's like he vanished into a black hole. Anyone with any info?

(Yea yea....Who's wood?, He fell out of a hot tub again, etc. etc.)

I believe Steven hawking is working on the black hole theory of Woods disapearance

who cares..he'll come back throw an inning and go back to where he belongs..the DL.

I care, that's why I asked. Your opinion on Wood and Prior has been documented, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Give it a rest. You don't care about them, to the point of coming off as hating them. We get it. Did you really need to come into this thread to post that riveting, thoughtful, and tremendously helpful reply?

I'm not going to give it a rest so get used to it.

Well it's beyond ridiculous, and quite immature. But whatever gives you your kicks.

Agree.

C'mon, badger pretty much asked for a no-zinger thread in his first post. Lord knows we all could come up with good ones, but it's annoying. Some of us still want to know what's going on w/Kerry.

If Wood starts throwing again in a month, he could be ready shortly after the all star break. So he could factor into the moves (if any) the Cubs make at the trade deadline.

Wouldn't this be the 3rd annual bowling tournament?

I think that his shoulder is destroyed to the point where it needs surgery but he refuses to go under the knife any more, which I can understand. So his career is basicly in limbo. He's waiting for it to heal to the point where he can pitch again but Im not hopeful that he won't return to the same situation a month after he begins throwing again. Its dissapointing obviously.

I don't understand that theory at all. It makes sense with someone like Prior, who had been able to avoid major surgery, but Wood's already been under the knife. I highly doubt he or anyone else are focusing on his surgeries as being the reason he's still getting injured. The problems were there and very clear before he had any surgery.
