The only difference was Maddux wasn't in his prime but Lilly is.

 

Also, Lilly coming from the AL to the NL is really going to help him out. He is much more likely to continue pitching well (though not a sub-2 ERA well) than Marquis is.

A valid point. I thought he might have a nice season because of this. But this is beyond my most optimistic hopes. Of course, he hasn't really pitched an 80 degree day with the wind blowing out at Wrigley yet.
