Maybe Harang simply beat us today,

No. Z's walks and getting beat down by the Donkey beat us.

Harang gave up some hard hit balls. Lucky for him they found defenders instead of going for XBH. Freel and Griffey made some nice plays. Harang had good stuff, but he wasn't dominant.

Seems to be the constant story for Harang. He has good stuff, throws strikes consistently, and goes deep into games. That right there is good enough to win you 16 games in the NL.
