Call for Donations: 2007 NSBB Predictions Contest

It's time to ask for donations for the 2007 NSBB Predictions Contest!

 

In the past, we've run the contest as sort of an NSBB Rummage Sale. Premium members can choose a prize; the top non-premium member is awarded Premium membership. The threads from past Predictions Contests are in the Events forum if you want to look through the past contest guidelines, prizes and winners.

 

If you are interested in donating an item, please just post here or PM me. The *only* items we would probably hold off accepting for now are common baseball cards, since we usually have autographed or rookie cards donated already. Used or outgrown jerseys in good condition and other Cubs fan items would also be appreciated.

 

This season, Vance has volunteered to consolidate the prizes and distribute them to the winners at the end of the season. Many thanks to Vance -- if he hadn't volunteered, there probably wouldn't be a predictions contest this year.

Here are the prizes thus far:

 

1. A plastic children's batting helmet signed by various Cubs circa 1995. Some of the sigs have been damaged. The sigs on the helmet include: Fergie Jenkins, Jose Hernandez, Brian McRae (sig badly damaged), Jamie Navarro (some scratching on sig), Mark Grace, Jim Bullinger (some fading), Anthony Young (I think), Kevin Foster ("Kevin" completely missing). and Bryan Hickerson, and Todd Zeile.

 

2. A Cubs cap signed on the bill in silver by three Cubs who threw no-hitters, Burt Hooten, Don Cardwell, Milt Pappas. Pappas and Hooten included the date of the no-hitter.

 

3. Matt Murton signed baseball. (sharpie, panel signed)

 

4. A Sergio Mitre signed baseball.

 

5. A Sammy Sosa button from 1998.

 

6. A Kerry Wood button from 1998.

 

7. A Carlos Zambrano growth poster.
