Wade Miller + Prospect(s) for Jarrod Saltalaralphmaccio

Unless those are some really good prospects, the Braves aren't letting Salty go. They are extremely high on him.

I know he's good, but what happens when he's ready for the majors with McCann already at catcher?

If we were able to grab him it would make our draft decision a lot easier (Price over Wieters, assuming Price isn't grabbed ahead of us).

My guess is one of those guys could move to firstbase. The Braves might trade Salty, but it would take a Pie or Veal level prospect to get him. They are that high on him.

If by guess you mean thats what everyone has said and what makes sense and what will probably happen, then yes, its a guess :).

I think Marshall might intrigue an org like the Braves. Miller and Marshall for Lillibridge would be AWESOME!!!

I would still take Wieters if he was the BPA. Why draft a lesser player to fill a need, especially when the drafted player will take a few years to get to the big leagues to fill the need?

Salted veal, with pie for dessert. Sounds like a good meal. :D

I'd like to see Harry tackle that last name backwards.

Let's see. We got Izturis for Maddux at the deadline. That means we get a token from a team that will assume Miller's full salary. Sounds like a Single-A pitcher with velocity or control issues.

Even forwards would be high comedy.

I'd just like to see what that looks like on the back of a jersey.

Guzman's strong spring, if it continues, combined with Prior's health, makes Miller very expendable. I doubt we'll get much out of him. I doubt we'll get much out of Miller. The value of an oft injured pitcher coming off rehab is not high. If I were the Cubs, I'd be looking to deal him for someone fairly low in the minors who isn't an A prospect but has the talent to become one.

Rotoworld is saying Redman to the Braves on a minor league deal... looks less likely we trade them Miller now.

It's going to be interesting, the best bet would be to keep him in the rotation briefly, wait for the first starter to go down somewhere else, and deal him (to maximize his value). But we may not have that luxury.
