Is anyone else a subscriber to "At The Yard" magizine? This is one of the best if not the only minor league magazine avaliable. Or maybe I should say "was" since it has been temporarily suspended. They promise to resume but I wonder is they will. I signed up for three years and got less than a year for my money. It was only $12 dollars a year and I did get a cap out of it. I only wish they would resume publication. Does anyone else know anything about this?

They had online player journals; Jon Searles wrote one.

Here's the website, but it doesn't look like it's being updated. I think I read somewhere that the guy who started it was still in college? Maybe I'm wrong.

Somebody (I believe it was Karen Mac) posted something about the magazine last year; that was the first I'd ever heard of it. I went to their website and signed up for the three-month free trial they were advertising at the time. I got one issue and liked it, so I subscribed through Amazon (at the $12 per year rate). I never received another issue, and I e-mailed the magazine directly a few times without response. I then contacted Amazon, and after an investigation into the situation on their part I received a full refund since the magazine had ceased publication. At one time last summer the magaznie's home page indicated that they were currently in the process of being acquired by another company and they expected to be back in August, but apparently nothing ever came of that. The home page since then reverted back to last April's issue, and the link to the subscription page is now a dead link.

yep, I got it for about a year, with the last issue being May 2006 - it had Matt Tuiasosopo on the cover (I think?!?) I loved it, but then it just stopped coming. Never heard a word, and it took me a couple of months to realize I hadn't gotten one in a while - checked their website and saw it wasn't getting updated and was bummed. It was not exactly hard hitting journalism, but it was fun and very informative about the minor league game and different teams. I was sorry to see it stop publishing. I wonder if they were hoping to see a bigger uptake in distribution in the minor league parks. The only one I ever saw it in was Clinton, IA (and if you know how many fans Clinton gets in a year, you'd understand).

I don't think I ever saw it at a minor league park. And I doubt many other people posting here knew about it, or it would have been mentioned sooner. And if a place like this board, that has a lot of hard-core minor league fans posting, didn't know about it, I doubt it was known about at all by average fans. Too bad, because the one issue I did get was interesting and a subscription price of $12 per year for a monthly magazine is hard to beat these days.
