From ESPN: The East Valley Tribune is reporting that the Diamondbacks are talking to the Rangers about a trade for reliever Akinori Otsuka, 34, who could challenge incumbent Jose Valverde for the D-Backs' closer job.

He put up a great season last year in the AL...we don't have many real bull pen needs but it might allow us to trade pitching for a bat....

We have a glut of bullpen arms as it is. The Rangers, if they trade Otsuka, will likely be in the market for quality starters. We don't have any of those to spare.

Would they bite on quantity over quality in exchange for Teixeira?

My guess is it would take one hellova package for Tex which would have to be quality.
