In the next 8 years, Soriano will make 136 million dollars.

In his entire career, Ken Griffey JR has made a bit over 130 million dollars.

Craziness.

Carlos Lee will make more in his career then junior.

Lilly will make more by the end of 2007 than Sutcliffe made in his career, and he'll make 3 times as much as him by the time his contract is done.

In 2002 dollars, it's estimated that Ted Williams made just under $11 million in his career. And he's the second best hitter in history.

Yeah, but Griffey's rookie card will always be worth more!

I'm just curious...

Are you using a normal economic inflation rate of 3-5% or a rate of 10% since that is usually considered "baseball" inflation (at least according to the Hardball times)?

Jose Macias has probably made more than Babe Ruth did in his entire career

I dont know about Macias, but I know Neifi Perez has.

I did a report on money in baseball in the 20th century last year for my Humanities 2 class. I compared Neifi Perez to Babe Ruth (and I used an online money-converter to change Babe's salary to todays money) and Babe didnt even come close to Neifi.

Sickening.
