Per Rotoworld:

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal says Greg Maddux will get a one-year, $10 million contract with a $6 million player option for 2008 from the Padres.

The option contains escalators that can increase the value to a maximum of $10 million if Maddux pitches 200 innings next season. With Maddux joining the Padres, it's highly unlikely that San Diego will be among the top bidders for Jason Schmidt. There's now added incentive for the Dodgers to pursue Schmidt.

Didn't see this anywhere.
