Everyone there respects the guy and he has alot of posts, so he looks pretty legit.

At least he says this positive note:

But Murton isn't available. Jones most likely will be.

I wonder if they're on their last nerve with Penn. This is his last option year and he has just plain tanked in the majors. But he just turned 22 and has torn up the minors. I think I'd rather have him than some one like Jennings.

I don't believe the Orioles are frustrated with Penn. In fact, they may grant him a mulligan for his poor starts. His poor outings followed surgery for an appendicitis.

Good point, I've never had my appendix out, but they did wait over 3 months after the surgery. I would imagine that they wouldn't have thrown him out there if they weren't confident he was healthy, especially because they were concerned about his confidence.

MLB.com said that they would trade Penn (not Loewen) in a package for Hudson, so I do think he is available.

I know its just me, but if they don't trade with Baltimore, Pittsburg, or Florida, doesn't seem like they trade.

*COUGH* Jacque Jones and Scott Moore for Ian Snell *COUGH*

Achem.... excuse me, what?

Yeah I'm sure the Pirates would jump at that deal

Well, the Pirates have been reported to be looking for a left handed hitting right fielder or first baseman with pop, along the production line of Chad Tracy, and might be willing to leto ne of the young staters in their rotation go.

Tracy: .281AVG 20HR 80RBI

Jones: .285AVG 27HR 81RBI

They want a RF or 1B, Moore is blocked by Ramirez and Lee, he'll never make it in our system, he's better off used as a bargaining chip. He's put up solid numbers in the minors, as we all know, but the only real position he's akin to playing is 3B, and he could probably converted to a first basemen. Offering that trade would give the pirates the LH righty with pop they wanted, as well as a LH 1B prospect with pop that they also wanted. I don't think the Pirates would shoot that down immediately, I think they'd at least consider the options, especially in a market that's too rich for their blood

The Pirates are another club that could trade a starting pitcher; their rotation includes three left-handers —Zach Duke, Paul Maholm and Tom Gorzelanny — with less than two years of service time.

Such pitchers are immensely coveted, but difficult to part with. The Pirates would prefer to move a reliever — their three left-handed relief specialists include closer Mike Gonzalez. But starters have greater trade value.

The Pirates, who want to add a left-handed hitting slugger at right field or first base, surely would be tempted if they could acquire such a bat — the Diamondbacks' Chad Tracy, for example — for one of their starting pitchers.

Free-agent possibilities such as Trot Nixon and Aubrey Huff are likely to be snapped up by more competitive clubs.

Of course Tracy had a great 05, which outpaced any year Jones has ever had, is under contract for 3 years at the price of Jones' two and is 5 years younger than Jacque.

Plus, they aren't going to trade Snell, they would be interested in trading one of their lefties, but probably not for Jaque. They could always sign Nixon or Floyd and not have to give anyone up.

I've just been mulling that over as a possibility for the last 3 weeks and throwing it out there to see what people think and get their opinions on it.
