Not sure if this is in one of the thread monstrosities, but I don't have all day to scan/read. If it is, then feel free to delete this.

Pat Burrell has informed the Phillies that he would accept a trade only to the Yankees, Red Sox or a club on the West Coast, a source told FOXSports.com.

The Yankees and Red Sox were the only teams he was willing to go to at the trade deadline. Now it's believed that the Giants, at least, have been added to the list. The Phillies remain hopeful of moving him.

Chicago is on the west coast of Lake Michigan

Why didn't we inform Greg Maddux?

Because it's in everyone's best interest that he forget the address to Wrigley Field.

He only wanted to be traded to a large market contending team at the trade deadline last year. That's not surprising - who wants to play out the year in a small market or non-contender? But I think another big factor was that Abreu was making similar demands at the same time.

I'll guess that he'd expand that list considerably at this point, particularly if Hendry and Pineilla sat down with him.

Well that sucks. I wonder if we agreed on a trade and talked to him, if he would change his mind and waive his NTC. I'd really like Burrell in RF with Drew in CF and Murt in LF.

We wouldn't be lucky enough to convince Burrell to accept a trade to the cubs. More likely, we'll get saddled with some ridiculous 7 year contract for a 31 year old Soriano. I just know JH is gonna overpay for that guy. I'd rather have Carlos Lee or JD Drew. Wish in one hand, crap in the other I guess...

Do you prefer Lee simply for economic reasons, or other?

if the cubs really are commited to winning then send sweet lou himself to convince burrell the cubs will contend, then maybe he'll waive his ntc to come to the cubs

According to CBS Sportsline:

Pat Burrell's agent told the San Jose Mercury News the outfielder would be interested in waiving his no-trade clause for a move to the Giants to play first base next season. Burrell had said the Yankees or the Red Sox would be the only places he would waive his no-trade for. Burrell has a chronic foot probably that seriously affected his ability to roam in left field.

So not only does he not want to come here, he also only wants to play first base.
