I'm afraid I'm letting my Bears bias get in the way...I have 3 TE's because I'm pretty comfortable with my starters in my other spots now that we pretty much have the bye's out of the way...

Dez Clark vs Miami

Antonio Gates vs Cleveland

Dallas Clark at New England

I don't think I'll be taking Dallas Clark this weekend, but I'm torn between the other two. I'm leaning toward Dez now that he looks healthy, he seems to be a favorite target of Rex's, and Rivers hasn't used Gates as much as I'd hoped when I drafted him.

Gates is the best TE in all of football...You have to start him no matter what....Its like those guys who wanna sit Manning just because Michael Vick has a good matchup..You NEVER sit your top postion players no matter what...Guys like Gates,LT,LarryShaun,Manning should be started regardless of who theyre playing against..They didnt become stars for only playing bad defenses..Clark is good but you gotta start Gates..

Must start Gates.

Against the 5th best defense vs TE in the NFL?

I'd start Clark or Witten ahead of Gates this week.

But I started Vince Young over McNabb last week.

I almost always go with my projections, especially later in the season when outcomes are more predictable. I'll sit a "stud" if another player has a highly favorable matchup.

But a lot of people are successful with the philosophy of always starting the best players regardless of matchups.

The funny thing is that another board that I'm on asked a fantasy question about TE's this week: they asked if they should start Dez or Kellen Winslow, just to get a feel to what some other fans are thinking is the value.

In my mind, Gates should be starting unless there is a clear reason why not. I can't see that with Dez against Miami, so I say Gates.

Ok then...how about this...

San Diego D or Patriots D?

EDIT: btw...I went with Dez Clark. I figure that if both games are blowouts, they Clark will get more chances just because the Bears tend to pour it on.

Well, it really depends on how your defense scores, but I would take the San Diego D. Of course I'm biased, but the big thing is that the Colts do not turn the ball over very much (only 4 times through 7 games) and they don't let Peyton get sacked very much. That doesn't give many extra points for the defense.

Yeah, as good as NE has been, I was leaning toward SD without Merriman. I just think Manning is going to get his points, and that Sunday night game may turn into a shootout.

I picked up both of those D's this week to replace Carolina....heh.

Thanks for the input guys...I just needed some reassurance of what I alrady planned to do :D

Well, the Bears game WAS a blowout. Just not in the direction that would have been expected.
