I have questions. I'm confused as to the status of:

 

Brandon League

Gavin Floyd

Craig Hansen

Carlos Marmol

Chris Shelton

Zach Jackson

 

 

 

When do we need to clean up our rosters to 10 keepers and meet the salary cap?

in my opinion...

 

marmol, league, floyd, shelton, and hansen are exempt, but they can't be kept as a minor leaguers. they're points don't count toward your cap, but they count toward your 10 player roster limit. in other words, your total points for all those guys would be 0, but they take up 5 of the 10 spots on your roster.

 

looks like jackson had neither 10 starts nor 25 appearances, so he can be kept as a minor leaguer, points free. he does not count toward your cap or your 10 player roster limit.

 

at least that's my understanding.

Marmol- I agree that he is probably not eligible as a minor leaguer.

Shelton- I agree that he is probably not eligible.

Hansen- I agree that he is probably not eligible.

 

League- has never been promoted on my roster.

Jackson- was promoted, but still classifies as a minor leaguer and was demoted.

Floyd- was demoted, but I did have him on my major league roster at one point.

 

"One other note - you may place a player no longer meeting eligibility requirements in the minors while he is in the minors. ie if a player is sent down, you may move him to the minors until he is recalled."

 

The above is a quote from the listed rules on NSBB. Floyd and Jackson both got demoted and I'm not aware of their recall.

oh well, if they ended up in the minors they could possibly be considered minor leaguers.

 

however, it doesn't matter (as far as i understand) whether or not a guy was promoted to your roster. if he's in the bigs and is no longer eligible to be in the minors, you can't keep him on your minor league roster.
